Designing for impact

At iFactory, I was able to dive headfirst into client work on the daily, creating design strategies, wireframing screens based on user personas, and prototyping responsive screens to ensure web accessibility and a seamless transition into development. Within my six months at iFactory, I was able to work on several projects that deepened my knowledge and skill as a full-stack product designer, including but not limited to:

  • Prototyping using motion design & animation
  • Designing responsive screens
  • Documenting front-end specification for developers
  • Wireframing screens using sitemaps and strategy reports
  • Maintaining WCAG accessibility standards
  • Conducting usability testing
  • Creating user testing reports
  • Developing comprehensive design systems
  • Delivering client presentations
  • Cross-functional team collaboration
  • Front-end & accessibility QA

My work

As someone with an interdisciplinary Computer Science and Design background, I wanted to learn more about the cross-communication between designing and developing.

How can I become a designer who thinks in code, and a programmer with a sharp eye for design? Luckily, I was able to explore these avenues through the projects I undertook while on co-op.
